2023 Renault Arkana S Edition 2WD 1.3 TCe petrol from UK and Ireland

Summary:

Good

Faults:

Nothing. For clarity, this is a company car review, boss takes care of all the bills. To my knowledge it has needed nothing but a yearly service.

General Comments:

After we got new cars for work, we upgraded to this Arkana from a Renault Kadjar. The Kadjar was not a bad car, but very dull. Some of our guys got Audi A4's (lucky them) but I got this, and it is actually OK. This Arkana is much better than the Kadjar at-least.

Don't get me wrong, it is still a silly cross over type modern vehicle. I couldn't help myself but think that such a comfortable nice driving car would be better if it was lower, faster, and had sharper suspension. A sportier modern version of the Laguna would be better Renault, please bring that car back! This car is an ideal base design.

Meanwhile, this isn't actually a bad car. Quite good looking in red. I love the look actually. Nice alloy wheels. Interior is comfortable and spacious.

Decent to drive, enough power and reasonably economical for petrol. The 1.3 has just enough get up and go, even with an auto box. Relaxed to drive.

On the negative side, I need to be really picky - the dash and materials feel a little low rent, but otherwise the car feels better built than Renault of old. Hopefully it will prove reliable in the long run.

So there you have it, a surprisingly decent modern car. I know, I'm shocked as well. A little overpriced however for even used cars. Best deals seem to be on nearly new cars if buying privately.

Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Don't Know
