2008 Renault Grand Scenic Commercial 1.5 dCi turbo diesel from UK and Ireland
Summary:
Reliable, strong and honest
Faults:
12 Volt adapter in the cockpit is broken.
Lots of bulbs.
Some of the trim in the rear of the car is loose/worn.
Air con required re-charging after 12 months.
General Comments:
I have the commercial version (i.e it's a small van - no rear seats). It's a comfortable cruiser. Great on motorways and open roads, 6 forward gears. Lots of power available for acceleration and overtaking. Very economical. My running costs (fuel) have halved.
Seats very supportive. Nice driving position. Lots of storage space. I love the digital display. Air Con is OK for Ireland, but would suffer in a hotter climate.
Negatives: Braking in the wet is tricky, as the front wheels tend to lock. Not the most exciting vehicle, but does the job well. The view when reversing is not great, and I have scratched the bumpers a few times.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

Original owner again. 55000Km. Engine still running very well. Front right driver's shock is leaking oil, and is to be replaced. Both rear brakes have to be replaced, wear tolerance is very low on these. Expensive jobs.
Front lights failing repeatedly, despite replacing bulbs.
Love driving this car, but faults are beginning to put a strain on our relationship.
