1992 Renault Safrane RT 3.0 petrol from Finland
Summary:
A truly worthwhile experience
Faults:
Trouble with the cruise control. I had to visit Renault carage twice to get the cruise control fixed properly. That was really expensive. Doors tend to get frozen during wintertime (I mean they really get stuck and can hardly be opened after a night outside). The petrol level meter never came below 1/2 -mark. Slight wind noise from windscreen area at highway speed. I was really disappointed with the poor visibility at dark. Both the dipped and full beam lack lighting power. I felt as if driving in fog at night. Poor vision to all directions from the driver's point of view, also the rear view mirrors are too small. Minor, but irritating enough noise from the front of the dashboard. It is hard to get air enough to the back seat passengers' feet area. This is a shame when it is could outside (hot in the front at feet level and cool in the back).
General Comments:
Exceptionally stable ride. Interior is made of high quality materials. Sophisticated looks. Really smooth and comfortable suspension. Supreme seats. Excellent brakes. Automatic transmission works as if it could read the mind of the driver. Silent and softly behaving V6-engine, that produces a pleasant sound when accelerating seriously. A spacious car that shows its "grand tourism" soul on long distance highway journeys. Wheels have got a very good grip even on slippery roads. Truly a masterpiece in terms of combining good and solid handling of the car with luxurious passenger comfort. Passengers commented having a strong feeling of security and safety when enjoying the soft ride in my car. Even after 1000 km of driving at one day, everybody on board would like to keep going on.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? No

A very good text. Good language and a neutral point of view.
