Faults:
The Air conditioning fan sounds like its rattling. However the garage cannot seem to re-create the same sound.
The clutch was replaced around 39K Miles under warranty. To replace a clutch on the Scenic the Gearbox needs to be removed. The gearbox has never been the same since. You need a map to find First on a cold morning and there is a creaking noise coming from the gear lever when you 'blip' the throttle.
Sounds like the bushes or the joints are going in the front. On tight bends it sounds and feels like I'm driving on rumble strips.
When warm the clutch shudders.
On the motorway the car feels like its pulsating.
Renault do not seem to be able to find the faults for the above and probably never will as they never take the car out for a test drive. They just drive it straight into the workshop.
General Comments:
Above all this is a fantastic car. I do a lot of motorway mileage (around 40K per annum) and the Scenic truly is a joy to drive.
Its very comfortable, safe, practical, fun, unique and grows on you the more you drive it.
The idea is to always avoid being in an accident. However, you know that should the worst happen the Scenic is going to offer you all the safety you need.
There are fantastic features too:
- Sunglasses holder\case
- Ability to remove the rear middle seat and move to outer seats slightly closer giving you a very spacious 4 seater.
- mini cooler box in the front
- storage spaces\pockets everywhere
- 3 point seatbelt in the rear
- snack trays for the kids in the back
- power socket in the rear for car fridge etc
- twin sunroof.
All in all this car is fantastic. It might not be the best engineered car in the world, but for the money, its one of the most fun to drive.

I am driving a Zafira now as someone hit my Fidji and it is in for repair.
I can't wait to get our Scenic back. It's more comfortable and economic than the Zafira.
(Got to admit I do like the power of the 1.8 engine on the Zafira, but don't tell anyone :)
