1960 Riley 4/68 1.5 B-series petrol OHV from UK and Ireland
Summary:
High quality family car, but less charismatic than forerunners
Faults:
Rotten chassis outriggers.
Lack of synchromesh on 2nd gear.
Rot in doors and boot corners.
Incorrectly adjusted voltage regulator cooked the battery.
General Comments:
Very high quality leather & wood interior made this car a 'nice place to be'.
Extremely robust construction was spoiled by excess bodyshell complexity and weight.
Poorly painted when new, causing early corrosion problems.
Many brights parts were actually stainless steel, so that exterior appearance held up well considering the age of the vehicle.
