1994 SAAB 900 S 2.0 16v from UK and Ireland
Summary:
Safe, secure, comfy and discrete
Faults:
There is some rust and poor quality repairs to the off side rear arch; looks unsightly.
There is some wear to the driver's seat, but then again, she has 126k miles on her!
Warning lights for the gear box and ABS come on occasionally. Just switch the car off, and they don't return when you restart the car.
Thirsty, especially when in sport mode and when I give it some welly. Averages 31 mpg.
General Comments:
I've always had a soft spot for these cars; I like the looks and the SAAB'ness. Not a BMW!!
This car is supremely comfortable, everything is to hand and appears to have held up well; doesn't feel like a car as old as it is.
The heated seats are lovely, relaxing to drive. This is the first automatic I've ever had. Am now converted.
The car is not perfect, it is well into its dotage, and if human, would be able to vote!
It came with a Saab service history to 89k, and loads of receipts and all the old MoT certificates to help reassure me about the mileage. It was taxed and has an MoT until November 12. All for the princely sum of £190! After I type this, the thing will probably self destruct.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

Update:
Now with 112.000Km, nothing wrong has happened.
Just replaced the rear tires and the battery.
The fuel consumption, the best I can do is 9.8 Liters/100Km, but I do very short trips with it, 20Km max. On long trips it goes down to 7L/100Kms.
Great car!
