I bought a 1996 sc1 saturn in 2001. It had 73,000 miles on it and for the first 2 weeks ran great. Now it uses 2 quarts of oil every TWO days. It is the worst car I have ever had.

I really like my Saturn. I have a red 1995 Saturn SC1 and the only problem I've had with it is the battery died, but that is after 8 years. I got it when it had 84,000 miles and now it has 99,500 miles and that is the only problem I have had with it. it is a great car and I believe that if anyone is looking for a new car, Saturn is the way to go. They also look very nice too.

I own a 1995 SC1, Red Saturn and love it! I haven't had any problems with it, so far, hopefully it stays that way.

My grandparents bought a used 1995 SC2 in 1995. It is an automatic and drives and handles greatly. A few months ago the "Service Engine Soon" light has been coming on and I believe it is because it needs a new fuel filter. Other than that it has not had any problems whatsoever. I like this car so much, I am in the process of buying one now. I recommend this sporty 4 cylinder to anyone.

I have had my 1995 SC2 for eight years now (I bought it new) and It is without a doubt the best car I have ever owned. It has almost 90,000 miles on it and I haven't had one problem with it. This car is also great economically, it seems like I never go to the gas station. Although this car has proved itself worthy (and believe me it still is) I have decided to retire it and I'm now acquiring the ION also from Saturn. I have had a great experience with this car and I hope you do too.

I have a 1995 Saturn SC2 with manual transmission and it is great. It has 111,000 miles on it and I have no problems with it. It is a beautiful car and runs like a top. As far as I am concerned Saturns are great cars. My one sister has an ION and she loves hers and my other sister has a VUE and she loves it. They are very economical and I could not be happier with my purchase.

I got my 1995 Saturn SC2 used in 2000. It only had 60,000 miles on it. I have not had any problems since then besides the water pump going bad, which only cost me $20 for the parts and my dad fixed it in the driveway. I would recommend Saturn to people who do light driving and know a mechanic to do the oil changes for you.

I own a 95 Saturn SC2, I paid 1500$ for it. It has 205800 miles on it and it runs great!
The guy I bought it off had a receipt of an engine overhaul, and he said that he had the alternator replaced.
I think the temperature gauge is a little off, and the tach sticks when it is cold outside.
It burns a little oil, but not much.
I had a set of Pirelli tires put on it, and it hugs the road like you wouldn't believe!
It's a five speed, and the stick still feels like new!
The only electrical problems I have with it are the door locks don't work, and neither does my cigarette lighter.
I am in 10th grade and I am 17; this is my second car and I love it!
I am saving to invest in putting lots of performance parts into it.
Great handling, and it is very quick! The throttle response was a little slow, so I sprayed a can and a half of carb cleaner into the throttle body and solved the problem. It also felt like it gave it more pep.
I really didn't have that many problems with it yet like so many other people, but I think it is a great car. I would recommend it to anyone!

I bought my 1995 SC2 Saturn brand new and it still runs great. I have changed the oil regularly and never have had a problem with it. The only thing I have had to do is replace the black trim on both doors where the window meets the door. It was cracking and looked bad. The only real complaint that I have with this car is that there is no rain gutter that runs along the top. Whenever it rains and my window is cracked, water runs right in. As a smoker, my window is always open a little bit. Sorry to hear all of the other bad luck people have had with their Saturn's.

I bought mt Sc2 new. It now has 252,000 miles on it. It has the original engine and the original clutch. The biggest repair was $600 for the sun roof repair. If you properly maintain a car it can last for years. That means change the oil regularly and do the required maintenance.

I have a Saturn sc2 with 208,000 miles on it with a auto tranny I haven't had to put a penny in it except general maintenance. it still runs like new.

I have a 1995 Saturn SC2 right now, that I'm actually trying to sell because of the money that I've had to put into it. I have had this car only for a year and I've had to replace the engine, muffler, back breaks, brake pads, one of the pop-up lights, among other small things. It leaked oil, and I believe it still does. However the oil light never came on when it was actually leaking, only sometimes when it wasn't. The shifter moves without my foot being on the break, the drivers side window does not go up all the way unless I help push it. After owning this car, I officially hate Saturn and will never buy another car from them.

I bought a 1995 Saturn SC2 about seven months ago and there has not been a serious problem since. The only problem was a leak in the oil pan, but the pan was so old it just finally rotted through. The car runs great and I would recommend it to anyone who can get one. If they take care of it properly, like any car, it will run.

I have a '96 SC2 with DOHC and 290,000 miles. The engine is rebuilt and has about 70,000 miles, as does the clutch and tranny.
As far as performance, this little car zips.
As far as repairs, I've only done the basics, and many of the repairs are pretty easy and straight-forward, especially if you check the internet for help. There is a great forum for Saturn owners, which has been very helpful -- http://www.saturnfans.com/
I will use this car to teach my kids how to drive stick shift, and will run it until it dies.

I have a 95 SC2 5spd. It's a very nice car. Yeah I put a lot of money in it to keep it running and it uses about 2 quarts of oil a week... my car is used as an emergency vehicle in the fire company, so it's used a lot for fire calls.

I own a 1995 Saturn SC2 and it has almost 185,000 miles on it and it runs like a champ! While owning it, I've just replaced oil and transmission flush and that (the required things) and new water pump. This puppy starts up and glides in style. I don't get why everybody is all insulting this car. It's a simple concept, maintain the car and treat it good, it will treat you good back! :)

I have a red SC2 (96). I got it used with 63,000 miles on it. It's a stick, which is great :D! I really don't see what everyone is talking about. I drive it a lot and I absolutely love it! I'm guessing these peoples experiences are rare. If all their cars had this much trouble, then Saturn would not be around anymore. Sure, the transmission is a little gooey (what kind of stick isn't after 63,000 miles?), but it shifts nicely! I'm going to have this car for at least 2 years (in high school - thru my senior year) and I don't forsee any problems :) it runs great and there's nothing wrong with it! I would recommend this car to anyone...
