2016 Scion iM 1.8 from North America
Summary:
The Loyal Blueberry
Faults:
Hood latch.
General Comments:
Bought my '16 Scion IM April of '22 from an estate sale. Sold my 2004 Accord since I wanted to try having a "newish" car and do Uber on the side. 2 months after I left my main job to do Uber full time and the car has been great.
It's comfy enough for 4 people, 600 - 700 km per tank of gas, optional Navigation has gotten me home from places with no cell reception. The Electric Storm blue makes the car look more expensive.
Only thing that's gone wrong was a 40$ hood cable and a burned out headlight. Which is really nothing other than normal wear and tear.
Although my old Accord had a little more power and just more "car" in general, it's an apples to oranges comparison since the Accord is a midsize and the Scion is an economy hatchback just above the Yaris.
I wouldn't mind a little more pep (happy with the good old 1.8 overall). Also heated seats (following year had it standard) and one more power outlet.
Anyway, in the 2 years I've had it it's been great to me, fun to drive, easy on the wallet and Uber riders give me compliments every day on it. As long as I keep it rustproofed and maintained, I do think it's possible to get 20 years out of this car.
Thanks for reading.
