2009 Seat Cordoba TDI 1.4 turbo diesel from UK and Ireland
Summary:
Great car, pity about the dealers
Faults:
Boot not opening at 17000km.
Boot not opening at 18000km.
General Comments:
This car is a super car for fuel efficiency. The car looks very well and handles well also.
The dealership however is a disgrace. Seat dealers refuse to liaise with each other.
I live in the county side and commute 20 miles to the city. I went to the dealer in the city as I was passing with my faulty boot latch.
Their first port of call is to regrease the part and the problem usually doesn’t reoccur. However, the problem reoccurred. They offered to replace the part.
Since, I now do not commute to the city, there is a local dealer 10 miles away, which I drive past often.
To make a long story short, the local garage wouldn’t fix my car as I had began my warranty with the city dealer.
I phoned SEAT Ireland and was given no satisfaction.
Do not buy a SEAT car as you are treated like royalty when you are handing over the cash, and treated quite badly when you have a problem.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? No

Sadly this is the case with every car company. Except for the high end ones like Rolls Royce, Aston Martin, or Lotus for example. Getting warranty work done can be a real pain sometimes. When I had a Ford for example, the dealership outright lied about the problem in order to avoid fixing it.
