2003 Seat Toledo SE 1.9 turbo diesel from UK and Ireland
Summary:
Comfortable, reliable, economical
Faults:
Air Con unit leaked into front passenger foot-well. Covered under warranty with new carpet fitted. A seal in the unit went, which meant that condensation and fluid dripped down into foot-well.
Otherwise nothing has gone wrong, at all.
General Comments:
Keep it regularly serviced, more so than a petrol car and it should be great to own.
The headlights are a bit low on factory setting, and very difficult to raise up.
Suggest changing the engine oil at least once a year.
There can be a bit of temporary surge while in 1st and 2nd gear with no foot on the accelerator, especially while turning. I suspect this is due to idle speed fluctuations possibly caused by power steering unit. But once you know it's there, you can usually keep it under control with the clutch pedal, as it only lasts for a second or two.
I would recommend taking this car on some long journeys every so often to keep it running well; it gets a bit noisy if only used for short hops.
In summary, it's one of those cars that you come out of the house, and just know it will work and get you to your destination without hassle.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

This was my review above, so just updating to say we still have the car, and it's still getting 50+ mpg.
Mileage is 80,000 and going very well (despite getting a few gallons of petrol by mistake).
Takes a few turn to get started recently, so may need new glow plugs.
There was another leak into the passenger foot well. This time it turned out to be the plastic 'drip-tray' at the base of the passenger side windscreen. It's the run off area for excess water. So the solution was to use some black duct tape to close off the gaps where it was getting in, and no problems since.
I'd love if this car had electric mirrors and an auto-box. But leaving that aside, it really is a fantastic car in every respect.
Very recommended, and I would definitely buy another SEAT; in fact I have owned a few before.
