2010 Skoda Octavia Elegance 1.4L TSI from Norway
Summary:
Pretty good
Faults:
One door needed some oiling to get ride of some squeaks.
Bolero stereo has some minor issues reading SD cards when it's hot. Some sound problems can also happen, but not often.
General Comments:
1.4l TSI seems is very economical. In the city it uses around 6L / 100 km, and outside as low as less than 5L / 100 km.
The DSG makes the car very easy to drive, especially with cruise-control.
The only thing I don't like is the little legroom in the back seat.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

I found the review from Jordan very interesting, as I also own a Skoda 1.8 TSI. I agree with all the comments as regards the performance of the car. Skoda have done a good job. It's well built, well finished, powerful, and generally a joy to drive.
I do have the same comment regarding the suspension. It was not sold to me as a "sport tuned suspension", but rather "rough road package". It certainly is not a rough road package, which I would expect to be one with longer throw & more compliance. Nevertheless, I am now used to it, and it is not a big deal.
My only complaint is that from speeds of 90Km/hr upward, a loud hooting sound resounds from what appears to be the rear of the instrument panel. It is somewhat inconsistent, but by 120Km/hr it is constant and unbearable. The dealer has heard it, and no one seems to have the slightest idea as to cause. It was first thought to be associated with the turbo charger, i.e. a resonating air line, but the thing is it is not engine speed triggered. It is a totally road speed phenomenon. High RPM at speeds below 100Km/hr do not produce the sound.
If anyone has come across this problem or can suggest a cause, I would really appreciate hearing from them. My car is still under warranty, and I really think this can be solved, but it needs some intelligent diagnosis.
