2012 Skoda Superb SE Greenline 1.6 TDi from UK and Ireland

Summary:

A good all round car

Faults:

Wheel bearings, small oil leak, boot catch, alarm, and some cosmetic imperfections.

General Comments:

Huge Skoda Superb has plenty of space and comfort for the money.

These are popular as taxis in my area and it is easy to see whey.

SE Greenline spec offers good options and economy. The interior is very comfortable and the car is nice to drive (not quite as fun as my old Accord however). Rear passengers always comment about how much space there is.

1.6 TDi is by no means fast, but with over 50 mpg regularly, who is complaining.

Quite good looking and modern still for a 2012 vehicle.

If you want economy, comfort and space, check out the Superb.

2012 Skoda Superb Elegance 2.0 TDi from UK and Ireland

Summary:

Luxury for less!

Faults:

Front shocks and springs, wheel bearing, and a couple of sensor faults.

I try to look after it well, recently done the cambelt and water pump, expensive but worth it.

Had it a good few years now with no major issues. Cosmetically looking a bit rough inside and out, but it is over ten years old now.

General Comments:

A great used buy, the Superb is a large luxury saloon. Probably one of the nicest cars I have ever had.

DSG auto box is a joy to use, but you will pay for that with less economy. I barely get around 48 mpg. A lot of reviews here and elsewhere claim to be getting over 50 mpg regularly, but they must be with manual transmission only. Either way the 2.0 TDi is well matched, with decent power and economy in any configuration.

Elegance model has the lot. Heated leather seats and electric everything. Very comfortable and plenty of space. Black interior with light blue exterior, nice combination.

Worth a look if you want a big comfy car for as little as possible. Be aware, although it is generally economical and cheaper to buy than rival luxury cars, maintenance can be a little pricey, but worth the upkeep for long term ownership and reliability.

2012 Skoda Superb SE 2.0 TDi from UK and Ireland

Summary:

Stunning for the money

Faults:

Not much but I have barely had it a year. Changed the timing belt and gave it a service. Seems OK so far.

General Comments:

The Superb really is as good as people say - you get a very large luxurious car that is comfortable, fast enough with the right engine, and also cheap to run.

My 2.0 TDi SE model is great, love driving it and just being in it. Silver exterior with black interior. Really easy to get comfortable, quiet and smooth on the motorway. Lots of electric features and soo much room.

You'll get about 50 mpg with the 2.0 diesel engine. Tax and insurance for me (as an older guy) has been OK. You do need to be careful with repair costs on this car however - they are as expensive as any car when things go wrong. Make sure you know a good local cheap garage that can take care of things.

Recommended if you want an executive level car, and don't care what others think about the badge.

2012 Skoda Superb Elegance 4WD 2.0 TDi from UK and Ireland

Summary:

Luxury saloon that does everything you need

Faults:

A lot of expensive maintenance and servicing, but never any breakdowns or major problems. Look out a local independent garage to keep costs down.

General Comments:

The Superb is a very spacious car and has lots of equipment at a nice price; was one of the things that made me buy it. Similar rival cars cannot match this car for comfort and space.

Reliability has been great, though it is worth following this car's service schedule to the letter to keep things right, even though that alone can be expensive nowadays.

The car is great to drive. 4WD system is great in winter, though due to this you won't get much more than 46 mpg, compared to the normal 2WD versions that can get over 50 mpg +. Worth it though if you live in a cold hilly area.

Just cannot fault this car really, buy a used one at a nice price, make sure it has low mileage and is looked after, and you have one of the best used buys out there.
