2019 Skoda Superb Sportline 2.0 TDi from UK and Ireland
Summary:
Impressive
Faults:
Beyond servicing and wear and tear replacement parts, absolutely no faults.
General Comments:
Huge, luxurious, great to drive, economical - you'll find the Superb hard to beat for value for money.
The car is immensely practical while still being very enjoyable to own. Loads of space in the boot.
My "Sport-line" model in battleship grey is a stunner. I absolutely love the look of these cars. Massive wheels. Classic saloon/sedan look.
Inside the car has a huge amount of space. Front and rear seats are adjustable in ways I would safely say anyone will find comfortable.
Ride is smooth and quiet. The car has all the electric features you could want.
Manual transmission is OK, but this car suits an automatic more; I have heard the DSG auto boxes are good, but this manual version is still fun to drive, nicely weighted clutch and gears. The classic diesel 2.0 TDi engine from the VW/Audi group of engines has been about a long time now. It is a solid unit (if cared for properly) with plenty of power when you need it while still managing around 50 miles per gallon or much more! It's like the perfect car, even tax and insurance are reasonable. Service and repairs costs vary - I have actually found Skoda main dealers OK, but as the car ages I'll seek out a trusted independent garage that will likely be cheaper for this.
I can see myself keeping this car a long, long time. Not interested with current EV's or hybrids on sale. A modern petrol or diesel car does all you need and more (this car proves that), why bother with anything else?
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

Good to know this is a comfortable car. I have an Octavia which I am generally happy with, but the lack of comfort and refinement always bothered me (see the latest Octavia review on here). Was thinking of going back to a bigger Ford Mondeo or something, but then again I always liked Skoda and do not want to switch brands, so a Superb seems a logical choice next for me :)
