2016 Subaru Forester 2.5 boxer from North America
Summary:
Not what we expected
Faults:
It's hard to describe. For starters - the throttle modulation is terrible. It is either on or off. It appears to be an effort to mask the overall lack of power from the engine.
The convenience group of radio/environmental controls are too clumsy to use. Too much going on. There was an over-emphasis made on technological gadgetry when this vehicle was designed. Seemingly insignificant characteristics have been observed, as well. The key/fob is oversized and isn't "pocket-friendly". The sliding console top is a curious situation. "Why on Earth would someone want that?"
There are numerous other items that are not mentioned, but overall, I regret buying this car. My wife doesn't like it.
General Comments:
Not for us. Bought for the vehicle for us to retire with. Wrong decision.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Don't Know

Sorry to hear you're not happy with the car - to be fair though, some of the things you mention should have shown up in a test drive and maybe you could have looked elsewhere if you didn't like the car...
I totally agree with you about the modern gadgets - there are too many in modern cars and they are just a distraction, which can be dangerous when driving. We don't need a million buttons and features that most drivers rarely use, only the essentials (heater controls, lights, etc.). Some things were best left old school.
Hopefully though you will get used to the car, and being a new car any particular problems or faults if you have any (hopefully you won't) should be sorted by the dealer under warranty. Give it a little more time to get used to it and hopefully it should prove to be a good car - I had a Subaru (years ago, in the 90s) and it was a great reliable car.
