1985 Toyota 4x4 LX 22R from Australia and New Zealand
Summary:
Fun with versatility
Faults:
Front wheel hubs.
Shocks.
Brake discs.
Electrical problems.
Electric window switch.
General Comments:
This little 4wd goes anywhere the other 4wds will, and when tuned properly isn't too bad on fuel.
I am 5ft 5", and I have slept in the back of mine with the seats put forward. Mine also has rust starting in the roof/gutters, but I suppose it is to be expected with a vehicle of this age.
Only drawback is lack of recovery point areas.
I love this little 4wd. Small, compact, reliable yet robust & capable.

I would look at your timing belt or chain for the dieseling problem it could be off in time or ready for a new belt or chain. If the belt breaks it could cost you a motor.
