1993 Toyota Corona EXIV TR-X 2.0 16v from Australia and New Zealand
Summary:
Impressive style for a family sedan
Faults:
Dash console button lights failed once - repaired under warranty.
Power steering slips a little sometimes in wet. Not a major problem.
General Comments:
The first thing that grabbed my attention when I looked at this car in the lot was its shape. I love the muscular, slightly aggressive stance of this vehicle, for what is essentially a family sedan.
Toyota refers to this model as having "the soul of a sports car" (EXIV supposedly stands for "Exciting Version") and I would almost agree.
It's got plenty of pep and handles respectably, though sometimes I feel the need for a bit more power (but then this is not a true sports car).
In terms of economy and reliability, I have no complaints. it has served me well and it still looks great even though it is nearly 10 years old.
I'd like my next car to be more sportier/more powerful still, but it will be a tough decision because I *hate* coupes; they aren't versatile enough for those of us with real-world salaries and situations.
And I've heard plenty of horror stories about the reliability of Holdens/Fords to make me wary.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes
