Hard to imagine a torque converter needing replacement at 85k on a brand that has such a solid reputation.

ORIGINAL REVIEWER.
I'm still driving the RAV4, and it has amassed 90,107 miles. This translates to 43,988 miles since I purchased it, 6,330 miles in the last year, and about 2,288 in the last quarter.
I did replace the 2 front wipers, but they are due again any day now with PA's autumn in full swing. I will replace the back wiper, too, this time. I don't think I've touched it since I bought the car in 2017.
I upgraded the headlights to Sylvania, but there isn't much of an improvement. I wonder if they need to be aimed since I swapped them out myself. The headlight swap (I've only done the low beams at this point) was easy; the hardest part was twisting the top of the canister that houses them. I was worried I had gotten another car like my old 2011 Focus that required removing the grille to change the headlight bulbs.
The brakes are starting to grind intermittently, and I am having that investigated next week at the dealer with the 90K service.
I'm still happy with my purchase. While COVID-19 has totally inflated how much people will pay for used cars, the thought of trading has indeed crossed my mind. But, I can't pull myself to trade in a vehicle that still runs so well considering the year and mileage. People are still shocked when I tell them it's 8 years old with over 90K miles on it.

I am the original reviewer, and the RAV4 is up to 91,232 miles. I was in a front-end collision in December, so it has been in the shop for the last month waiting for parts on backorder.
I did replace the rotors all around, the pads that were not previously replaced, and had the master brake cylinder flushed since the brakes were metal-on-metal and grinding harshly at idle.
One of the inner taillights burned out, so I replaced both.

I am the original reviewer. The RAV4 has 94,779 miles on it as of today. The driver's side license plate bulb in the back was burnt out, but otherwise, no news. This is the longest I have owned a vehicle to date. Looking forward to many more years of driving with the reliability I have had so far.

I am the original reviewer, and the RAV4's odometer now reads 97,680 miles. I've been driving more miles lately due to dating, work, and leisure. No further issues or major maintenance items to address.

I am the original owner. The RAV4 now has 101,700 miles. The back right TPMS failed toward the end of August, and the dealer quoted me $301 to replace it. I have opted to leave it as it is for now. I have been using the RAV4 to move, so the miles have been increasing more quickly this quarter.

Thanks so much for all your detailed updates. I am looking at buying a 2014 Toyota Rav4 Limited with 88,000 kilometers (Canada) on it & with today's prices the price is $19,990 so I am doing my research!

I am the original reviewer, and I'm still driving the RAV4. It now has 105,097 miles. I had a flat tire at 103,569 miles in early January, and I replaced the wipers. The power trunk hinges have begun to fail intermittently, and I have not decided if I will take the car to the dealer, an independent mechanic, or try to fix it myself. I have tried using the kill switch in the glove compartment, but it also does not seem to work.

I posted the original review. The 2014 RAV4 now has now gone 111,567 miles. This means I have driven it a total of 65,448 miles in my ownership, 6,470 miles in this quarter, and approximately 16,788 miles in the last year.
I left the trunk hinge alone because it seems to have sorted itself out. I wonder if it was only intermittent due to the cold winter weather?
The tire replaced in January was not recalibrated correctly, so it caused the TPMS light to come on full-time. I had that tire recalibrated and I never see that light anymore.
Otherwise, no news is good news.

I posted the original review of the 2014 RAV4 in 2017. I have now reached 121,569 miles, meaning it has been driven 10,002 miles this quarter, 23,889 miles this year, and 75,450 miles since I have owned it.
I began a new job as a mobile social worker at the end of April and spend considerable time in the car (several hours a day). The driver's seat has begun to wear much more rapidly in the last quarter, tearing at the seam on the bottom left bolster and losing the dye on the leather insert. While I understand, this is still disappointing.
The tires are ready for replacement any day now. I also need to do the 120K mile transmission flush.
I also had the front windshield replaced due to a chip that later cracked. I also had the glass on the front doors and the eyebrow across the top of the front windshield tinted professionally to match the back windows.
The car has developed a shudder upon cold starts. It feels like the torque converter, but several Toyota mechanics have assured me it is not.
I was also rear-ended in May, and the RAV4 is at the body shop being fitted for a new back bumper and some tailgate repairs.
Overall, I'm still happy. No drops in performance or fuel economy.

I left the original review. I purchased the RAV4 six years ago today, 10/28/17. It is up to 127,784 miles, which is an increase of 6,215 miles this quarter, 30,104 miles this year, 81,665 miles since I purchased it, and an average of 13,611 miles per year.
I replaced the tires at about 125K and was told I would need 3 of the 4 lower control arms replaced. I'm going to hold off on that because the suspension work isn't critical (the dealer admitted this would only affect how the tires wear, and I have them rotated every 5K regardless). I figured that I probably only have 3, maybe 4 sets of tires worth of life left in the car (at 30K per set).
The GPS software has finally fallen out of date compared to Google Maps and I never use it anymore. I'd say I got pretty good life out of it. I did not investigate replacing the navigation card yet.
The dealer still has not gotten the weather stripping in, so that is still outstanding.
The auto-dimming rear-view mirror has been becoming more sluggish. It still works but it isn't as responsive as it once was.
The dealer appraised the RAV4 and said they'd give me $8K. They'd probably turn around and sell it for $18K so I guess I'll keep it forever and a day. That's why I bought a car with a T on the nose.

I left the original review. The 2014 RAV4 is up to 132,652 miles, an increase of 4,868 miles this quarter. I have made several trips that were 4-5 hours in length and the RAV4 has handled everything I've thrown at it. I even drove it 650+ miles in one day to Warsaw, NY and back.
The heater blower fan seems to be weaker on stages 1 and 2 when circulating heat to the cabin of the car. I need to check the antifreeze.
There is also a rust bubble (red paint) about the size of a dime on the roof above the passenger side of the windshield. I wash the car every 7-10 days and the rest of the car looks immaculate, so this is kind of disappointing considering the age of the car.

Thanks for the detailed updates. Like hearing about cars long term.
