The recent bull-brained Toyota boy that has written that Toyota's are perfect because they are Toyota's, perfect b/c they are made with perfect parts (regardless of strength) and are perfect because he owns a Toyota (with few problems..yet) forgot to read the original review which states that Toyota was NOT perfect. The perfect parts that were assembled with tender-loving care fell apart and Toyota had to replace them. Have a look if you'd like, I'm not making that up.

I have found that Japanese cars are updated every 4-5 years for a full redesign. American cars on the other hand are forgotten and wait about 7-9 years before they are changed. It is not because the American cars are better that they wait so long to change the designs, but because it is not cost effective to change so often... although now they have realized it has cost them billions of dollars by not freshing up cars faster!

19:47 Why aren't Camry parts prices fairly priced? It is the #3 vehicle in the USA. I got so gouged by import parts prices and lousy quality. The imports have gotten very bad the last few years in my opinion. The recalls where there were few prior to 2000 have driven many of us diehard import buyers away. Truck buyers have to be the most savvy as they demand and expect real proof. If you cannot buy a vehicle that is a real truck... why own one at all. I hope this import reviewer on here starts documenting what is anything is superior to his aluminum engine and a $70,000 ZO6 Corvette block. He was condemned all GM as not as well built. Well heres one lets see what you say is better on a Toyota!!

Wrong again Toyota Boy. The Tundra was overhauled because they had to, period. The previous generation Toyota Tundra was inferior in every aspect to the big 3 trucks. The new 07 may be better, but like others have clearly pointed out, we will have to wait 20 to 30 years to see if it can last as long as the domestics. Ford overhauled the F-150 in 04 because they wanted to stay out in front. You see, Toyota only knows how to follow the leaders with the Tundra.

Boy, you Ford guys get upset when someone proves you wrong. You seem fairly intelligent, so why would you drive a piece of crap like a Ford?

30th Jan 2007, 15:42

So...how exactly did you prove us wrong? When, where, and how? With what facts?

30th Jan 2007, 15:57

Ford overhauled the F-150 because they were losing, sorry ARE losing money while the imports are cleaning up the market.

Toyota makes profit because they sell the best product, and Ford and Chevy continue to lose money and fall behind because they sell a second-rate, cheaply made sorry excuse for a truck. "Most trucks on the road with over 250,00 miles"... more like "most trucks in the junkyard with UNDER 90,000 miles". Remember when they mimicked the front end of the Dodge Rams after '94? That's how pathetic Ford trucks have gotten. They can't even come up with their own ideas anymore.

You Ford guys get really upset when you're proven wrong. Maybe that's because you know at heart that your precious Ford really isn't that good of a truck, and it burns you up to see Toyota blowing them out of the water with the Tundra? (And the Tacoma, which has embarrassed the pitiful Ford Ranger). I KNOW I'm driving the best truck on the road, and the more insecure, angry comments you guys make, the more you prove me right.

A lot of the reason the domestic trucks are slow to change, is because they never really needed it. Ford/Dodge/GM got it right within the first few years of production, puttin in the right, beefy stuff. Toyota (Tundra) on the other hand, desperately NEEDED it. The Tundra was flimsy and inferior to the domestic trucks. Only now, after 8 years of production, does it finally step up get what it needed to compete with the domestics in fair respects.

Will you please STOP TALKING ABOUT THE CAR SEGMENT!. Toyota can have that for all I care, because they DO make a nice little econo car. In my opinion, that's where they should have stayed, not try and make trucks, because they have never been good at it, and never will.

30th Jan 2007, 18:07

Really? What makes you think that? Even Ford is scared according to a recent BusinessWeek article.

And, of course, it's funny that at the Detroit show Ford announced it was going to "collaborate" with Toyota on numerous projects. First step towards acquisition by Toyota.

Funny how you lose your ego when you lose $12.9 billion in a single year.

31st Jan 2007, 15:46

Maybe all those Ford guys will learn how a truck is SUPPOSED to run after Toyota shows them how to build one.

31st Jan 2007, 15:59

And there's another one...

31st Jan 2007, 17:01

After Toyota shows them. When is after... after Toyota builds one? All I have seen is slightly over 100,000 Tundras sold last year in America. You would think that people would frantically dash and buy them because of fuel costs. Yet they bought over 7 times more F Series last year in fact more people bought F Series in America than any other car or truck. Must have been from thorough evaluation and being more savvy. A truck is not bought just as a conservative fuel saving sedan... people are not buying trucks with strictly that motivation. So they buy full size Fords F Series as the majority of any given vehicle sold again and again and again...29 years and 24 years as the top truck in America. Kind of like climbing Everest to achieve that feat. If they build a platform and match the towing capacity, people carrying capacity, larger engine size while maintaining fuel economy maybe it will be a start to begin catching up to Ford. And also lower the true cost of ownership to buy, maintain and resale cost per mile like Ford has achieved... might get them to the starting gate in my opinion anyway. Regardless of stock, politics etc. you cannot ignore the sales achievement and being the favorite truck to own. I drove a brand new Tundra but it was Ford that showed me a much better truck. I also really like the new Silverado. I can't imagine this Toyota commenter has even driven 2007's at all. If you drove both you would certainly see the difference immediately unless you have Toyota blinders on.

31st Jan 2007, 19:55

If Toyota ever shows Ford "how to build a truck" I will never buy another Ford truck again. If it's as bad as the Tundra I'd rather WALK.

31st Jan 2007, 20:31

It's apparent that this Toyota-supporter cannot offer any experience or technical terminology to explain his case. Instead, his best argument is to keep slamming Ford and calling them crappy.

I guess it's like politics, if you don't have anything good to offer, then you have to tear down the alternatives in order to look good.

31st Jan 2007, 20:57

Do you REALLY think that most of the people in this country are savvy, and would carry out a thorough evaluation of anything? Have you been to a Walmart lately? Do you see what most of the people walking around have to offer mentally? These people are the reason the F-150 sells so much. Simple people don't know any better. The Ford is a little cheaper, so that's what they buy. "Built Ford Tough"...an advertisement for a dim-witted, hormonal 13 year old, yet people buy into it without doing the "thorough evaluation" that they SHOULD do. If they did research anything, they wouldn't be buying Fords.
