1986 Toyota Van from North America
Summary:
Great van for the price
Faults:
Well I have had a few thing go wrong with the van. first, I have had to put brakes on it 6 times, second the tires and the shocks have gone out, third the dash lights such as the oil light, brake light, and radiator light go on and off, fourth when it rains the van likes to stall out, and both back doors have broken.
General Comments:
I love this van it is great on corners and it has very good acceleration off the line. the only bad thing I have got to say about my van is that it isn't very good in the snow and in the rain it tends to slide or slip up hills.

I love my 1986 LE Van. It's 2WD, bad in snow because it's light in the rear (add weight in winter). It's got 346,000 km on the original engine. Bought it 7 years ago. All I've had to do is replace tires, alternator, muffler, change oil, the usual maintenance. The engine runs so quiet I often wonder if it's running! The transmission is a powerhouse. The interior looks great even with the dog riding on the front seat all the time, the seat looks hardly worn. My beef are the latches for the sliding door and the back door, they are weak points! Hard to find replacements for these. Good points: turns and parks on a dime, starts every time without fail, great for camping, extremely dependable, the kids love it for going to parties. Bad points: very susceptible to wind sheer on highway, front blower motor difficult to replace, kids appalled if you pull up in front of school, ironically they love riding in it as does my 83 year old mom.
