2016 Vauxhall Insignia SRi Nav 1.6 CDTi turbo diesel from UK and Ireland
Summary:
Excellent vehicle for my needs
Faults:
Basic servicing and wear and tear, no disasters, car has been very reliable. "Start Stop" technology is annoying and sometimes does not work, I just ignore it.
General Comments:
Bought this Insignia used at very low mileage and got a great deal. The car has been excellent and is a huge improvement over my previous Vectra, though that was a decent car as well.
The more modern Insignia has got the lot, SRi spec has all the electronic equipment you would ever need, and even base models are well equipped. Interior is a comfortable place to be for long journeys. Quiet and smooth on motorways, and I do a lot of motorway driving and the odd short journey. I've heard the dreaded DPF on diesels do not like short journeys much, so make sure you give it a firm long drive every now and then.
1.6 diesel has reasonable performance, and you will get between 60 and 70 miles per gallon, providing you drive slowly. 60 or a little less if have a lead foot. The car looks the business in SRi spec; the huge alloy wheels and metallic paint make all the difference.
If you are looking for reliable modern transport at a good price, you could do a lot worse than one of these. Repairs and servicing are reasonable, though Vauxhall dealers can be a little uninterested and short with you when out of warranty, check out independent garages for repairs if your Insignia is getting older and out of warranty.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

Start stop is annoying on most cars and I find the saving on fuel marginal; thankfully most cars have a button on the dash to deactivate it once you start the engine, I'm just used to pressing it all the time at the start of a journey, bugs the hell outta me.
