Faults:
No major issues while I have had it, previous owner whom I knew said the car was generally reliable but when things did go wrong it cost and cost (turbo issues), but this is the top model. Service history is a must with any car, but especially a V6 Vectra. Walk away from rough ones with missing history. Knowing an ex Vauxhall mechanic helps a lot as well, I would also advise against going to a main dealer with one of these cars.
Interior and exterior are perfect for its age, but the last owner was very fussy (in a good way) kept the car cleaned and garaged. In general with the age of these cars you need to watch out for rust nowadays buying used.
General Comments:
V6 Elite Turbo Vectra from 2009 in black metallic - stunning end of the line car and top model, the Vectra does not get any better than this.
Exceptionally rare car, these were expensive new (over £25,000?) and make a great used buy, I got mines for a bit less than £2900. Looking at it you would not know it apart from the regular Vectra's, other than the larger alloy wheels and some chrome details. Interior is just gorgeous with black leather. Everything is electric. Very comfortable and spacious. Ride is indifferent, not too firm, not exactly smooth either, though the suspension setup with this car is obviously different than the lower range cars. Handles very nicely though, but you do feel the car's weight.
The engine is where this car shines. Even with the automatic, you can see 60 mph in about 7 seconds, and the car will do 155 mph. Not that I have tried that, I promise. The car has almost 250 bhp. Tax is an eye watering £630 per year, insurance is OK with me as I am an old man who's been driving over 30 years. You won't see much more than 26 miles per gallon at very best. But if running costs are a concern, get a 1.8 petrol or 1.9 diesel CDTi Vectra, do not bother with this. This is not a car to drive daily, and I do not even know how anyone managed it in 2009 and bought these new, taking a big hit also with depreciation...
Still, for me this is kept as a second car, and was an impulse buy as I knew this model was rare. And I am really into rare and interesting cars. Relatively low mileage for its age, I do not plan on using it much and hope the value rises with age, not exactly a big investment I know, but surely this car's value will only rise, all be it slowly, future classic for sure. Some local Vauxhall enthusiasts already want to buy it off me! But not just yet, having too much fun. Now if only those fuel prices would please come down so I can use it more...
