2015 Vauxhall Zafira Exclusiv Tourer 2.0 CDTi from UK and Ireland

Summary:

Fresh and improved Zafira

Faults:

Oil leak, and turbo pipe split, common faults fixed cheaply and easily by a local mechanic.

DPF light on, re-gen sorted it however. Seems OK now.

Recently changed the cam-belt and water pump as it is approaching 100K miles.

General Comments:

We have had a couple of Zafira's in the past in our family, a 2003, and a 2009 model. All were great family cars, this newer shape 2015 model feels as good as new and is a huge improvement on the already good previous Zafira's.

Went for the 2.0 diesel despite having petrol engines before - just wanted better performance and economy. I have reservations about the CDTi engine's reliability, but it has been all right so far. It has much more power and economy obviously than the old petrol units. We are getting a genuine 50 mpg most of the time, and it pulls the weight of this vehicle just fine, even fully loaded.

Very spacious interior, ideal for family use. Lots of space, clever storage areas. Exclusiv is a basic specification, but the car has enough electrics for me.

Ours is black with window tints, and it is very smart in darker colors for an MPV.

Nothing special to drive but does the job.

Can see myself keeping this one for many years despite being nine years old now.

Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

Electrics were a real pain on early Zafiras.

Newer cars are much more sorted.

Watch out for the usual diesel troubles however. The CDTi diesels are good only if looked after, but turbo pipe splitting and DPF issues are still common.
