2005 Volkswagen Bora S 1.6 from UK and Ireland
Summary:
It's still a very solid little VW
Faults:
Brake judder.
Glove box broke.
12v socket stopped working.
A bit rusty around the arches now.
Plus all the usual consumables expected of its age and miles.
General Comments:
Bought this VW Bora as a cheap run-about a few years ago and it has delivered.
Been a great little car, no major problems.
Looks and feels modern still for a 2005 car. Pretty smart looking - dark blue with alloys. Relatively comfortable though not the most spacious inside.
Solid interior, quality feel. Enough electrics for me even though this is a basic model.
1.6 petrol engine is not fast, but does 37 mpg all day with mixed driving style.
The Bora is a rare car now, and it is basically just a Golf with a boot. Still worth a look if you find a looked after one at a nice price.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Don't Know

I had a Jetta, Vento, then a Bora back in the day. Solid little VW's, loved them, they were great cars.
Got nearly 200,000 miles from all of them, only ever scrapped them due to age and rust, but the engine and transmissions were solid if cared for.
