1999 Volvo S80 T6 2.8 twin turbo from North America

Summary:

Top luxury features, reasonably priced

Faults:

Nothing, it is new (bought it used, but have had it 1 month).

General Comments:

This car has great acceleration, & tons of gadgets!

Stereo is especially nice.

Handles well & LOTS of room in the back seat/trunk, although the car looks small on the outside.

You have only had this car one month! Wait several more months and you will see how cheaply this car was made. I agree with the rest of the comments regarding the car as being less than average.

I have a 1999 s80 T6 and I love it. it has 102,989 and I have had it since the day it was bought. The only work I have ever needed on it were new brakes, muffler, do to snow and road salt, and minor burnt out headlights.

Don't Believe The Hype!!!

I have been wanting to drive a Volvo let alone buying one for myself. Then, my husband of 7 years surprised me with a 1999 Volvo S80 T6!

I really enjoyed driving the car, the smoothness and the comfort I felt behind the wheel made it more "fun to drive".

Our kids love it and are looking forward for me to chauffeur them to school everyday.

Thanks, hubby!

General Comments:

I love the design of this car, but the build quality is abysmal. This is the most unreliable car I've ever owned at any price. Of more significance is the fact that Volvo and its dealers are in denial, and clueless as to how to set it straight. Do yourself a favor and steer a wide berth around this car on your way to a reliable Japanese car.

No, not a review from a Lexus dealer but from a lifelong Volvo driver on his 20th (and last) Volvo. I'm happy to hear that your example has been largely trouble free, however every major consumer publication and auto industry quality survey clearly shows my dismal service experience to be more the rule than the exception for this vehicle. Perhaps you're in denial to admit you've squandered $40K on a service nightmare.
