2006 Westfield All Models SEI W 1600i from UK and Ireland

Summary:

I'm glad I bought one..

Faults:

Nothing yet...

General Comments:

I bought the car as a modular build from Westfield. I bought the baby one as on test driving it, it was plenty quick enough, better to have power you can use rather than being scared to press the pedal! It goes like a ***** and handles like nothing you can imagine until you've been in one. There is a review on this site stating that it will beat a VR6, it munches bikes so the VR6 comes a very distant third..

Westfield themselves make it a very easy task to build your own, nothing is too much trouble although the build manual needs looking at..

It's comfortable all things considered and doesn't come out in the rain, the heater really makes a difference, but above all, I'm a biker so noise is important to me. The noise this thing makes is great, the roll off back fire is wicked and the looks draw attention everywhere it goes. A Westfield becomes a hobby, not just a car.

1994 Westfield All Models 7 SE 2.0 Ford Pinto from UK and Ireland

Summary:

*BIG GRIN*

Faults:

An engine mount broke due to the lack of ground clearance; a dry or shallow sump easily fixes this.

The Weber 40 DCOEs were very old and needed to be replaced as recommended by the Rolling Road (http://www.aldonauto.co.uk/, who are excellent!!)

Both of the issues above are down to the build rather than the car.

General Comments:

Words simply fail to describe the level of fun possible when driving one of these cars.

Se7ening, whatever the manufacturer, is an experience like no other.

Incredible acceleration in a car that weighs relatively nothing, coupled to razor sharp handling, makes your previously-esteemed 'other car' feel like a bus. Se7ens, Westfields included, are like rockets.

The car is essentially a scalable development platform that can develop alongside your skills and bank balance.

Pinto-based Westfields are excellent value for money, and are mechanically simple.

The insurance costs next to nothing, and the performance per pound is staggering.

Word of warning - The Westfield would not be a sensible only-car due to impracticality.

1991 Westfield All Models 7 SE 1650 Kent Crossflow from UK and Ireland

Faults:

This is a user built kit car based on the Lotus 7 concept. Being kit based, various things will go wrong depending upon the parts used in construction. Quality & reliability of parts provided by Westfield are 9/10.

General Comments:

Incredibly fast with 0-60 of approx 6.5secs, leaves most production cars behind you! Not very practical if you have to use it as family car, although many do because the benefits are handling & performance second to none.

A go-kart for the road, a toy some may say.

1989 Westfield All Models 1.8 petrol (highly modified) from UK and Ireland

Faults:

Nothing so far, but there are lots of little bits & pieces that need attention quickly. Such as de-tuning the race spec engine so that I can get some sensible mileage for a change.

General Comments:

Bloody fast open top, twin seat sports car. Great for when its hot, an absolute nightmare when it snows. Built from a kit.
