1991 Chevrolet Caprice Classic 5.0 liter gas from North America
Summary:
A great all around full size car
Faults:
Ignition switch gets stuck in the lock position; water pump failed; catalytic converter got plugged.
General Comments:
The motor isn't fantastically powerful, but it works for me. I've had a 1992 caprice, and this 1991, and they are great heavy duty, reliable cars. I get 20 miles a gallon consistently. I drove this car from Ohio to California fully loaded with no problems. It's the perfect affordable full size luxury car that is still practical transportation.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

I would almost suspect an electrical fault causing those kind of problems.
The '91 was the first year model to use the Throttle Body Fuel Injection system. I love my 20MPG. Moved one engine over to a truck body, it still gets great gas mileage. Go figure.
