I had the same issue some time back. The dealer fix for "knock" is approximately $100. You can do it yourself very easily and much less expensively. It is the intermediate steering shaft that is causing the sound. GM service uses a service pack that is a very small band-aid, and lasts about as long.
There is a small hole in the top of the universal in the steering linkage just before it leaves the interior through the firewall. Purchase a spray lithium grease such as Lubriplate, and spray it into the shaft with the red tube included for about 10 seconds. It may take a few tries at this over a couple of weeks, but the fix has lasted about a year for me. Good luck.

Has anyone figured out the overheating problem, along with clicking in the front end? If you have, please email me cassandrawilber@yahoo.com

I have a 2002 Intrigue and I also have the same problem. I replaced the thermostat twice and the problem is still the same. Make sure you check engine oil and your coolant.
