I have the same car. Normally when the brake switch is out, then your brake lights will stay on even when the car is switched off. My advice is that you consider changing the switch. You will find it slightly hidden behind your brake pedal; take note that the switch easily gets damaged, so you might need to get someone else to put it in for you.

Hope this helps, relax, it's not very expensive... 15-20 bucks max.
