So you can verify that every last component of your electronics is made in U.S.A.? I doubt it. Yes your computer may be assembled 5 miles away from your home, but don't for a second think they don't use imported parts for some of the internal components. Even domestic brand name stuff is all made overseas these days, and it is very hard to find anything that is 100% domestic anymore.

So who do you buy your cars from? GM, who has partnered with Toyota on multiple cars and used Honda parts in others. Ford, who has had joint ventures with Mazda. Chrysler, who wouldn't even exist without Diamler and now Fiat. What is so patriotic about buying from these companies who have mixed imported vehicles and parts into their lines for decades? I know for a fact that whatever car is in your garage has MANY imported parts throughout and there is no denying it. So why is buying one thing unpatriotic and not another?

Plus, people seem to overlook how the domestic companies outsource much of their manufacturing jobs to Canada and Mexico to save money. That affects U.S. workers even more than buying a Honda that was built in a U.S. plant. Now you are supporting a company that doesn't even want to provide jobs to your country if they can get cheaper labor elsewhere!! The Fusion is a great example. Not one assembly job is created by this top ranked car as it is built in Mexico. Way to go Ford!!

I guess the American manufacturers of years ago shouldn't have sold out their own manufacturing plants to China and Japan then eh? There are countless companies that used to be based here, and now are using overseas factories to produce their goods as it is cheaper.

To blame consumers for making sensible choices on higher quality goods because they aren't buying 100% domestic products is pretty unfair. We used to be a strong manufacturing country. You can hardly name a handful of major corporations, today, that manufacture all of their components in the U.S. for their own products.

We became focused on the service industry to make huge profits and we let manufacturing slide in this country. Now we are stuck with imported goods because we have no capacity to make anything good here anymore. You won't convince me that everything you own is 100% domestic because that is virtually impossible. I'm sure if you listed the brand, model number etc, of everything you own I could find quite a few imported parts within your possessions. However, I am not inviting you to do this!
