I've test-driven HUNDREDS of cars, as my wife and I are car enthusiasts. The Camry rides and drives very well. It is a very comfortable car. Sporty it ISN'T, but if you are one of those individuals who are afraid of being noticed it will suit you to a "T". I would never buy a Camry new because it hurts American industry and jobs. However, there are many excellent 1 to 3 year old Camrys on used car lots that are excellent buys and DON'T destroy U.S. jobs. Those I recommend if you have to have a less reliable foreign car. Camry reliability is only average and is surpassed by many other cars, such as the Ford Fusion, Honda Accord, Buick LaCrosse and Hyundai Sonata.

I've driven a Camry belonging to a friend of mine (I don't personally own a Camry.) He owns a 2004 Camry with a 4 cylinder. It's the base line model and has little options. It has about 90,000 on it now I believe and zero problems that I know of. It though it rode beautifully, absorbing all the bumps wonderfully. The engine wasn't a super powerhouse, but it had some pep to it and didn't struggle. Handled highway merging beautifully. I think it looks decent, it's not a show stopper, but then again, if you're talking about the Fusion being better or something, it's not to special looking either if you ask me.

Camrys are basic sedans without a lot of excitement. They get you from point A to point B, but not too much thrill involved. The Honda Accord is a nice driving car, but still not overly exciting. You might think about the Mazda 6 as they are a little more sporty and have more of a driver car theme going. Also, the Fusion Sport looks pretty nice. I haven't driven it yet, but it seems more suited for excitement then the average sedan. If I was you and was on the fence, I would take a Saturday and do the circuit and cover most of the major players. Just be sure to do a thorough test drive, preferable alone, on all types of roads. Drive the car how you want to drive it, and see that it does all you want it to do.
