Hello,
I have a 2002 Xtrail T30 2.0 Ltr 2WD. I too am experiencing shudder/vibration on acceleration. Here's what I've done so far to duplicate the vibration statically. I jacked up the left front wheel and started the engine. I then spun up the wheel to 60km. I heard and felt the exact vibration when I was driving on the highway. After shutting off the engine I lowered the wheel to the ground. I then raised the right front wheel and did the same thing as I did with the opposite side. I did not feel any vibration whatsoever. Based on the above experiment, I suspect the vibration is coming from the axle shaft. I'm going to replace it and report back to this forum with my findings.
By the way: I replaced all 4 tyres to include balance and alignment. The vibration did not go away. Furthermore, I've also determined that the vibration is not coming from the engine. Process of elimination points to the axle shaft on the passenger side.

Did you get your rumble sound figured out?
