I have been reading all your comments with great interest. We too, have experienced most of the problems already mentioned.
Engine cutting out whilst driving (very embarrassing). Citroen did download the gearbox software, and so far, this has not happened again.
The roof stuck open three weeks ago. As we have to park in the road, this was a big worry. Citroen couldn't help, but gave us the address of a man who could. We went to see him and discovered about 6 Pluriels parked outside his workshop! Even a lady with a lovely black version who had driven all the way from Sussex to have her roof fixed; Citroen quoted her £3,500. James charged a fraction of that, and that included making a new part that is no longer available. Our car had a wire burnt out in the wiring loom and a faulty control unit. Roof lining stripped back to do this of course. The cost? £225 (repaired over the weekend). We live in Shropshire, but we do recommend to try this guy. Look at his web page: www.chevroncitroenspecialists.com
As you have all said, this is a lovely car, not developed enough, such a shame. But we're not getting rid of it yet! We have the 1.6 SensoDrive model 2004 registered.
Good luck to you all!! Elspeth & David Owen.

I bought my 04 Pluriel in October 2011, and like you enjoy the benefits of the convertible, but don't get too excited, it won't last.
I went to open my roof, and it only goes to the first stage. It closes again (fortunately) and doesn't leak. Having just spoken to a Citroen specialist, he said the worst case scenario is about £500.
It seems the best bet is if it's working well, get rid of it quick.
