I remember when I used to own a 72 Cadillac sedan DeVille years ago, I drove it to Vegas and back to San Diego without any trouble, plus the Cad was my daily driver for 2 years. Same engine and trans as the 70, and I felt confident that it would make it since it ran so well for its age. These are awesome cars that were over built IMO, and if well taken care of, meaning just keeping up on the maintenance, and not trashing it or letting it fall in disrepair, I can't see why they couldn't go 200,000 miles or more without trouble.
The 69-70 models had one of the best grilles and styling when you compare them to the later years. The 71-74 Cads had shoddy interiors, and the bodies just didn't feel as tight as the older models. The downsized 77s were big improvements from an interior standpoint over the previous years.

Sure... because you didn't have to bring eight "close friends" (and their luggage) with you, either.
