Hi there.
I just bought a 2004 Holden Barina and it has the same problem. After some research on Internet forums, I have discovered that the culprit is the EGR valve sensor.
Emission gas regulator (I think that's what it means).
They cost about $70 on eBay and you can find many "how to" videos on YouTube about how to replace the EGR yourself in about 5 minutes.
So many people have written in to the forums, telling their personal horror stories of being fleeced by unscrupulous Holden dealerships who charged them thousands of dollars to replace basically everything except the one thing that will actually fix the problem.
Good luck, and do your research before you take your car near a dealership.
Cheers.

Hello, I was just wondering were you got the user manual from? Thanks.

I have the same problem. From research it has something to do with the crank angle sensor. Did you have yours fixed and was the above the solution?
