Shortly after my last post, I paid an alarm tech to "make my tail light group work". He installed a relay that triggered the system through the ignition accessory position. That worked until I finally ripped out the Ungo alarm myself. I'm now attempting to trace wiring through the tail light fuse, the tail light relay, and the integration relay.
Otherwise, the truck is still competent to drive anywhere. I'm riding on my original spare tire now (Dunlop) which has no visible cracks. My oil of choice now is Shell Rotella T4 15W40 for summer, and any competent 10W30 oil in winter. My tail pipes still pass the white tissue test, but I'm losing oil through valve cover gaskets and other head related gaskets. Heads and compression are both fine.

353,000 trying miles and I still love it.
