Actually they did in those years under an agreement. I had 2 Acura’s; the earlier Legend with no Onstar was the best car I ever had. The next an Acura TL; the absolute worst car I ever had maintenance wise. Also took the worst beating ever on resale and Car Fax reported due to the infamous trans failures. Sold it with the 3rd transmission in it under 50,000 miles. And it was never abused. Headlight replacement was also high with the Xenons.
Actually they are right. This was part of a licensing agreement where GM would use a Honda V6 in various Saturn models, and in return various Acura models came equipped with the OnStar service.
