"You decide"?

Well, first, no one shopping for a MKC (or Corsair, as it is now called) is likely to also be looking at a Prius -- and vice versa.

Second, people replace shocks/struts all the time that did not need replacement; conversely, other people NEVER replace them until some catastrophic failure occurs. So your anecdotal evidence does not really prove anything.

Finally, if anyone would ever decide what make/model to buy based ONLY on how long the shocks/struts were expected to last... well, they just need help.

If the Prius was a heavy a vehicle as the Lincoln, would the original struts last for 260k miles? Who knows but I think unlikely.

Maybe the struts in the Prius are shot but your friend doesn’t want to spend the money. Or they could be fine. Maybe the Lincoln owner likes to keep ahead of maintenance. Possibly the struts were defective from the start hence early replacement.

So…there’s nothing to decide here really.
