The station wagons were not actually as “common as dishwater”. Ford started losing market share during that time period to competitors, so production runs went down in general. Actually, they discontinued it altogether at one point. Based on my research, the wagons were ~1/10th the production run of the sedans. Entirely possible these are rare enough to have some collectors value in the future.

People get too pedantic about the words used, rather than try to just get a general sense of what someone is trying to say. Someone used "rare." Did it necessarily need to be corrected? Just take it for what it is.
