Automatic gearbox oil does not need to be replaced THAT frequently. Engine oil might be able to sufficiently do its job at that change interval - provided it is on a modern vehicle, and the precise, specified oil is used (e.g., VW or BMW long-life). But the automatic gearbox (torque converter, not dual-clutch/DSGs) in most vehicles only needs a full service (not just the oil, but the filter/s within) at around 100,000 km (or 60K mi). You could do the automatic gearbox service at 60,000 km (37K mi) if you really want to play it safe, but no need to be doing it every 10K mi. Else everyone would need to do it every engine oil change.
Is this based on any factual evidence -- or is it just your opinion? Because there is NO vehicle manufacturer who recommends replacing the transmission fluid every 10K miles.
