Bad news for you, dude. The MKC was dropped in 2020, replaced by the Corsair. The MKC had a bad habit of catching on fire while driving or parked, due to a faulty battery sensor. There was a big recall over it.

2019 Lincoln MKC Reserve 2.0T

Summary:

Excellent, excellent vehicle

Faults:

Upon delivery there was one creaky trim panel at the D pillar, was replaced by dealer, problem solved.

General Comments:

Amazing and supremely underrated vehicle.

- Ultra comfortable and quiet with beautiful interior and overall quality.

- More than adequate performance even with the base 2.0T engine.

- Excellent ride quality (the standard adaptive suspension makes it extremely versatile when utilized).

- New vehicle ownership experience is second to none (pickup and delivery for all service with Lincoln loaner provided).

- Excellent up-to-date technology for the year.

- Not a single significant issue with the vehicle.

My brother has this car and he replaced all the struts with 50k miles on it. Oops.

My friend's 17 year old Prius still has the original KYB struts at 260K miles. You decide.

"You decide"?

Well, first, no one shopping for a MKC (or Corsair, as it is now called) is likely to also be looking at a Prius -- and vice versa.

Second, people replace shocks/struts all the time that did not need replacement; conversely, other people NEVER replace them until some catastrophic failure occurs. So your anecdotal evidence does not really prove anything.

Finally, if anyone would ever decide what make/model to buy based ONLY on how long the shocks/struts were expected to last... well, they just need help.

If the Prius was a heavy a vehicle as the Lincoln, would the original struts last for 260k miles? Who knows but I think unlikely.

Maybe the struts in the Prius are shot but your friend doesn’t want to spend the money. Or they could be fine. Maybe the Lincoln owner likes to keep ahead of maintenance. Possibly the struts were defective from the start hence early replacement.

So…there’s nothing to decide here really.

Read between the lines, most likely this is another claim that Toyota is the perfect brand with no issues whatsoever. They'll compare them to anything.

Also wear on the struts depends how the car is driven.
