2017 Nissan Sentra SV 1.8L
Summary:
If you have 22k to waste
Faults:
Front driver's seat replaced.
Driver and passenger window seals replaced.
Muffler heat shield loose.
Squeaky chassis, problem still unknown.
Rattling interior in cold weather.
General Comments:
I would say that if I could do it again, I would buy a car without a CVT; they’re simply junk.
Also the dealer like most others, tries to dodge doing the work. Like my seat was a 4 month back and forth event. It took the help of an attorney to get that resolved.
The car overall is poorly thought out and sadly built. I think Nissan has lost their vision for their bottom line.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? No

Thanks for your review.
Remember that Renault owns Nissan.
They like to combine vehicle platforms for cost containment.
This often leads to shortcomings that the customer has to deal with.
Question: What problems is the CVT causing?
Please let us know.
Thanks again :)

Hi, thanks for asking. The CVT is very sloppy when it comes to shifts between the sub planetary gear. When I slow down from 25mph - 5mph, I have to use caution because the car will lunge if I don’t use extra braking force to stop the car. If someone was distracted, they would easily hit the car in front of them thinking that the vehicle was at a stop. Also from park to drive or reverse, the car really loves to clunk and shudder. Now I could understand if I parked on a hill without using the park brake, but this is flat surfaces. It’s not total junk, but I had a crap Scion iQ with a CVT and that was much more solid. At least it felt so.

The CVT will either delay in “fake shifting” or will have NO POWER when you’re giving a decent amount of pedal force. I know it’s underpowered, but this is the CVT.
Nissan isn’t in a class action lawsuit AGAIN for nothing. They’ve been sued before for faulty CVTs in previous models. I can only hope I benefit from the same lawsuit ranging from 12-17 Nissan/Jatco CVT.

I agree, have a 2009 Nissan Titan pick up truck. Was very hard to get them to fix things properly when the truck was under warranty. Had three problems fixed by them twice, and still have those problems today. But of course now that I am out of warranty, they want to fix it right this time at $100.00 an hour labor costs plus parts.
No more Nissans for me; I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed, but I am smart enough to know that Nissan doesn't back up their products. For buyers looking at a Nissan truck buy used, buy it cheap enough for you to fix any problems at a good local mechanic shop.
What is good on the truck... good strong engine... good trans... good A/C system, but that's about it.
What issues... weak rear end... sloppy loose drivetrain... doors that won't open... HVAC small doors inside the dash get stuck opening and closing when changing climate vent modes... and I got lucky the 2009 Titan was one of the better years...
