2011 Ford F150 Platinum 5.0 V8 from Lebanon
Summary:
Does the job and more
Faults:
Had to change the lead frame. That's about it.
Everything else works perfect except the rear middle window. Don't need to open it anyway, so I haven't fixed it.
General Comments:
I don't tow or haul; I just like the idea of a tough truck on tough roads. So far, it's mainly been driven on bad weather days and otherwise just for fun. I own four other cars and a couple of bikes, so the F-150 isn't really abused.
It's a Canadian vehicle, but surprisingly, it has hardly any rust, and the chassis is very clean. The transmission isn't one of the best, but if you don't abuse it, it'll last forever.
I already replaced the lead frame along with the oil and filter, and I plan to do another oil change soon to clear out any remaining old oil from the torque converter. I change the engine oil every 5,000 km, using 5W-30 full synthetic. The brake pads last a long time, as I usually drive manually.
I like the interior space, and contrary to what I've heard, the Sync system works very well, even with Bluetooth.
If I ever replace it, it'll be with a newer model, but always one with the 5.0—I love that engine.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

All new cars are nothing but a pain in the ass with dreaded engine management ECUs. They are designed by nerds to be fixed by nerds. In other words a laptop computer, because even the best mechanics, true mechanical engineers capable of rebuilding engines to run better than they did when leaving the factory floor, cannot work out whether it is ECU or engine problems, because everything now is fitted with such silicon junk.
